JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Oversees the purchasing for the Group including all plantation materials and / or equipment
- Formulates and implement Purchasing policy and procedures to ensure optimum value in terms of costs, quality and service
- To undertake strategic identification and selection of major suppliers/vendors
- Develop a deep understanding of the business requirements, value chain, total costs, risks and opportunities in order to deliver value to the Company
- Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
- Implement strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
- Directly involves with major negotiations
- To develop and maintain supplier relationship and secure win-win position at all times
- Evaluate suppliers & vendors for their suitability and make recommendations to the Company
- To make frequent trips to respective sites to ensure purchasing activities are in compliance to the Company policy and procedure
- Assess, manage and mitigate risk, monitor and forecast upcoming demands
Requirements
- Master/Degree in Business Management/ Business Studies / Administration / Purchasing or its equivalent
- Minimum 10 years working experience in purchasing role with minimum of 5 years in similar capacity
- Exposure in Indonesia procurement activity will be an added advantage
- Familiar with SAP MM module
- Willing to travel extensively to Indonesia plantation
- Proven track records on vendor management pricing negotiation
- Based in KL Head office
