JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The IT Applications Manager will provide overall leadership to a newly formed team of SAP Business Analysts in our Penang, Malaysia facility. You should have a wide view of SAP application configurations, development, and support across multiple functional areas and be able to support a matrix organization reporting into the US-based team. Preference is given for knowledge and experience with SAP Basis and security functions.
In this role you will:
- Hire, manage, and retain IT Applications employees at our newly formed location in Penang.
- Provide day to day management of local resources to support prioritization, problem-solving, and internal support to company functional teams.
- Mentor team members with solving problems and working through projects /Identify opportunities for additional roles the group can take within projects and support.
- Communicate and collaborate regularly with the US-based IT Leadership on the direction of SAP technology
Traits we believe that make a strong candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or an appropriate business discipline such as Accounting or Supply Chain.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0 for both configuration and ABAP development
- Ability to actively lead a local team in alignment with Corporate global policies and standards under minimal supervision
- Previous experience managing multifunctional IT teams /Global support experience / Conduct tasks remotely
- Ability to demonstrate good documentation skills along with the ability to communicate problems quickly and concisely
- Experience with managing within a matrix organization /Strong interpersonal and team-building skills /Fluency in English and good communication skills.
