JOB DESCRIPTION
Job purpose:
Responsible for providing technical service and the development of the pigments business in latex, coating and wood industries in the region including other countries. To lead the R&D and Lab team in the plant.
Key responsibilities:
1. Responsible for setting up the R&D and lab facilities in the new site.
2. Oversee and manage all pigment quality and quality control.
3. Directly supervise all positions within the pigment R&D and lab team.
4. Provide technical service to customers, support Sales/ Marketing Manager and sales force and agents
5. Manage technical support and recommend R&D projects to meet customer/ market requirements
6. Develop new pigments, processes and formulations to meet customers’ requirements.
7. Coordinate technical efforts and work closely with the technical team in Europe.
8. Ensuring that you maintain an excellent level of technical knowledge regarding all pigments offered by the company.
9. Assist with the preparation of technical reports
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's Degree – Chemical, Chemical Engineering, Polymer and related degrees preferable
2. Minimum 10 years of experiences in Technical/Technical Service Manager position in a pigment related company. Experience with the pigments used in latex application is preferred.
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills
4. A positive attitude to dealing with people
5. Capable of working independently and able to develop innovative technical solutions
6. Confidence in presenting tailored presentations to potential clients
7. Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation
