JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

To lead and drive the Group’s sustainability and ESG strategy, ensuring integration of environmental, social and governance principles into core business operations. This role is responsible for sustainability framework development, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of the Annual Sustainability Report, including linking non-financial ESG performance to financial outcomes

Responsibilities

1. Sustainability Strategy & Framework

• Develop and execute the Group’s sustainability strategy and framework across business divisions
• Formulate sustainability policies, procedures, and governance structures
• Drive integration of sustainability initiatives into property development and manufacturing operations
• Develop strategic sustainability roadmaps and continuous improvement plans

2. Sustainable Business Integration

• Identify sustainable solutions across processes, products, and community initiatives
• Embed ESG principles into operational and strategic decision-making
• Promote energy efficiency, resource optimisation, and responsible business practices
• Strengthen collaboration across departments to ensure sustainability alignment

3. Annual Sustainability Reporting & Integrated Reporting

• Lead the preparation and publication of the Annual Sustainability Report
• Coordinate cross-functional data collection and validation
• Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting requirements and relevant ESG frameworks
• Analyse and demonstrate the link between non-financial ESG performance and financial performance, highlighting value creation, cost efficiencies, risk mitigation, and long-term business impact
• Support integrated reporting initiatives linking sustainability performance to corporate strategy and financial outcomes

4. ESG Performance Monitoring & Governance

• Establish and monitor sustainability KPIs and performance metrics
• Conduct impact assessments of sustainability initiatives and programmes
• Develop tracking systems to measure effectiveness and ensure accountability
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

5. ESG Ratings, Research & Regulatory Compliance

• Manage ESG scoring and rating submissions (e.g., FTSE4Good, MSCI, S&P Sustainability Indices)
• Monitor regulatory updates and sustainability reporting developments
• Conduct internal data reviews to ensure governance standards and audit readiness
• Ensure alignment with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and other applicable standards

6. Stakeholder Engagement & Awards

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, investors, media, NGOs, and local communities
• Coordinate sustainability-related award submissions and external recognitions
• Assist departments in communicating and promoting sustainability initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related discipline
• Professional ESG or sustainability certifications are an added advantage
• Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, corporate strategy, or related functions
• Experience in property development or manufacturing industry preferred
• Hands-on experience in preparing Annual Sustainability Reports
• Technical & Functional Competencies
• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting standards
• Familiar with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting Guidelines
• Experience in ESG rating assessments and benchmarking
• Strong analytical capability in linking non-financial and financial performance
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
