JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, capacity, and material availability.
- Monitor production flow to avoid bottlenecks and meet delivery schedules.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Supervise operators, fabricators, welders, and machine technicians on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with departments such as engineering, design, procurement, and quality control.
- Ensure manufactured components meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Enforce workplace safety policies and the use of PPE.
- Report and prevent accidents, near-miss incidents, and unsafe practices.
- Coordinate with stores and purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials (sheet metal, fasteners, consumables).
- Monitor material usage, scrap reduction, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sheets, dies, tools, and fixtures.
- Work with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance on CNC machines, press brakes, welding equipment, compressors, etc.
- Minimize unplanned downtime through early detection of equipment issues
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
- Knowledge of CNC, Machining, welding, grinding, powder coating, and assembly.
- Experience supervising a production team.
